I am very thankful to announce the one year anniversary of our Operations Manager, Ahmed, with the zachis.it team! Ahmed, located in Cairo, Egypt, tirelessly handles all of the accounts payable and receivable, keeping our VAs on track and happy, and generally a great resource to lean on when I am swamped. To celebrate, he had the day off and going to visit his local park, Al-Azhar Park. I’ve asked some questions to him to help you get to know Ahmed a little better.

What do you like best working remotely for the team?
The best thing in working remotely is that you can utilize your time more efficiently. There is no waste of time in transportation – especially if your office is in your home. So you have more time to enjoy with your family, friends, or learning new skills.
What have you learned in the past year working with us that has helped you?
zachis.it has given me the chance to learn new skills and techniques like web programming, improving my English, and team management. I didn’t know how to start in the field of IT, but zachis.it has given me a lot of support since the beginning.
Tell us about your neighbor cat!
My cat is named Basiouni, and he is a free wild cat. When he comes by we play and I feed him. I really like to help wild native cats. I think there is a new cat in the area – I shall call her Ruby – so he will have a friend soon.
What are you going to do on your day off?
I will go to a place where I can enjoy air, water and sun.
What tips do you have for contractors seeking jobs like you have?
Many people think that remote working is easy, or when they just enter this field they will earn a lot of money, but contractors need to focus on their area of talent and develop these skills first. Also, they need to be patient with this kind of work and try to understand client needs. I recommend they use Google products because Google has helped me in my career.
Tell us about your area of location, country, etc
I am from Cairo, Egypt. Cairo is a nice place to live, and we live here beside history. In Cairo you will find Egyptian hospitality and peace. Our traditional Egyptian foods are beans and Tamia (Falafel) and Koshari, you can try.
